Considering a Solid state disk for your laptop?

If you are considering an SSD or solid state disk drive for your laptop let me just tell you the technology is not yet there. I recently purchased a drive for around $200 it was only 32GB but it did not work as well as I thought it would. The drive would boot extremely fast. I mean WindowsXP loaded in literally like 2-4 seconds. However, that is what SSD disks are known for. You can read from them incredibly fast. However, when you go to write data they freeze constantly. I mean mine would lock for literally 10-15 seconds before coming out. I’m the biggest fan of SSD and I’m sure I’ll be giving this a shot in the future but for now i will stick to my SATA hard drive spinning at 5400 RPMs.
