Account Manager, MSP
A role Velocity recruits for. The employer may be Velocity or an organization we recruit for, and we confirm it with you before any interview.
About the role
In this role you own client relationships for a managed IT provider. That means regular check-ins, renewals, follow-up on service issues and handoffs to the technical team.
This is one of the roles Velocity Technologies recruits for year-round. The job may be with Velocity, or with an organization in the Phoenix area that we recruit for. Most positions are hybrid. We confirm the employer, pay, schedule and benefits with you before any interview.
What you'll do
- Manage client relationships, meeting schedules, renewals and account notes.
- Follow through on quarterly review outcomes, project recommendations and lifecycle discussions.
- Track open concerns, escalations and promises until each one has an owner and a date.
- Work with service, engineering, vCIO and sales staff so clients get consistent answers.
- Suggest additional services only when they solve a real client need.
You're probably right for this if
- You have managed client relationships at an MSP, technology services or B2B services company.
- You follow through, take good meeting notes and set clear expectations.
- You can talk comfortably about managed IT, Microsoft 365, support, projects and hardware lifecycle.
- You can keep a client's trust during a service problem or a hard conversation.
Useful but not required: quarterly reviews, renewals, project coordination or service reporting; ticketing, security, backup and network basics; experience with Phoenix-area business clients. Equivalent experience counts.
Pay
$60,000 to $95,000 a year, plus variable pay.
The hiring organization sets the exact pay within this range. Benefits depend on the employer, and we confirm them with you before any interview.
How hiring works
- A phone call with Velocity about your experience, the role and the pay.
- If it looks like a fit, we tell you who the employer is and confirm pay, schedule and benefits.
- Interviews with the hiring organization, which may be Velocity.
On the first call, expect to talk through questions like these:
- How you rebuild trust after a support issue misses expectations.
- What you want to know before walking into a quarterly business review.
- How you decide whether an upsell genuinely helps the client.
