Tempe IT support

Managed IT Services in Tempe, AZ

Velocity Technologies is headquartered in Tempe, at 4500 S Lakeshore Dr Suite 490. Tempe businesses get managed IT, a 24/7 help desk, security operations and onsite visits from technicians who work out of the same city.

We support offices from Downtown Tempe and Tempe Town Lake to ASU Research Park, the Novus Innovation Corridor and the south Tempe neighborhoods around our own building.

Where we work in Tempe

Tempe fits offices, research labs, startups and light manufacturing into a compact city. These are the main business areas and what IT usually looks like in each.

Downtown Tempe and Mill Avenue

Professional firms, agencies and startups in older buildings and new towers near ASU. Office space changes hands often here, so moves, new desks and Wi-Fi coverage come up regularly.

Tempe Town Lake and Rio Salado

Corporate and regional offices along the lake. These teams usually run on Microsoft 365 with hybrid staff, so identity, device management and secure remote access matter more than servers.

ASU Research Park and Novus

The 320-acre research park near Loop 101 and Elliot Road, and ASU’s Novus Innovation Corridor near Mullett Arena, house technology, research and engineering companies. Many sell to larger customers who send security reviews before they sign.

South Tempe and the Lakes

Medical offices, accounting practices and service companies close to our own building. When a fix here needs someone onsite, the trip is short.

What Tempe businesses ask us to handle

Enterprise security reviews

Startups and research-park tenants often face their first SOC 2 request or vendor questionnaire before they have an IT department. We set up the controls those reviews look for and help you answer the technical questions accurately. The audit itself comes from an independent firm.

Fast hiring and turnover

Growing teams need laptops ready on day one and access removed on the last day. We run onboarding and offboarding from a checklist through Microsoft 365 and device management so nothing is missed.

Backup for an in-house IT person

If you have one to three internal IT staff, co-managed IT puts a 24/7 help desk, security monitoring and extra project hands behind them.

Security operations

Velocity’s security team works with a hosted 24/7 security operations center that watches your devices and accounts and responds when something is found.

Support from our Tempe headquarters

Velocity runs the company from the Lakeshore Drive office. Tempe requests start with the 24/7 help desk, and when the work needs someone onsite, the technician comes from here.

Where we are

4500 S Lakeshore Dr Suite 490, at Rural Road in south Tempe. US 60 and Loop 101 both run through the city a short distance from the building.

Remote first, onsite when needed

Password resets, Microsoft 365 issues and software problems are handled remotely. Network gear, Wi-Fi, new hardware and office moves get a technician onsite.

Who you work with

Jeremy Whittaker founded Velocity in Arizona in 2004 and still owns it. Jesse Knox leads IT operations.

What the first 90 days look like

If an enterprise customer review is on the calendar, tell us during discovery. The controls that customer will ask about go to the top of the plan.

Week 1: Learn your environment

We collect admin access, inventory users, devices, licenses, network gear, vendors and backups, and fix anything that is an active risk, such as an account without MFA or a backup that stopped running.

Weeks 2-4: Close gaps and document

MFA, patching and endpoint protection reach a baseline on every computer and server, and the environment is documented. Your staff already has the help desk number and can call us day or night.

Months 1-3: Roadmap and first review

You get a written roadmap in the first month. It also covers your hiring plans, so laptops and licenses for new staff are budgeted before they start. By the end of the quarter we sit down with leadership to go over what we found, what we fixed, and what the next year of replacements, licensing and security work will cost.

FAQ

Tempe IT support questions

Is Velocity actually based in Tempe?

Yes. Our headquarters is 4500 S Lakeshore Dr Suite 490, Tempe, AZ 85282, at Rural Road near US 60. Every city we serve, from Phoenix to Gilbert, is supported from this office.

We are a startup at ASU Research Park or Novus. How do we get ready for an enterprise security review?

Start with the basics reviewers check first: MFA everywhere, managed and encrypted laptops, patching, logging, backups and a written offboarding process. We put those in place, keep the evidence and help you answer questionnaires accurately. If you need a SOC 2 report, we prepare the technical controls and an independent audit firm does the attestation.

What is handled remotely and what gets an onsite visit?

Password resets, Microsoft 365 problems, software issues and most user requests are handled remotely through the 24/7 help desk. Firewall and network work, Wi-Fi, hardware swaps, new desks and office moves get a technician onsite.

If we have a data breach, how do you help with Arizona’s notification rules?

Arizona has a breach notification statute with firm deadlines, and your attorney decides what applies to you. We help contain the incident and preserve the logs your attorney and insurer will ask for.

How do you handle onboarding and offboarding for a fast-growing team?

Each new hire gets a laptop enrolled in device management and a Microsoft 365 account with MFA and the right group memberships before day one. On the last day, access is removed from a checklist and the laptop is wiped or reassigned. You request both through the help desk.
